Osentia Fracture Risk Assessment
Osteoporosis is usually silent until a bone breaks. The Osentia test analyses the protein structure of a nail clipping to estimate your risk of a fragility fracture, from a sample you collect at home with nail clippers. It is a risk assessment, not a bone density scan. Your results are delivered to you directly by Randox. If you would like them explained, you can book an optional follow-up consultation with an IMC-registered Global Health doctor from €45.

Collect your sample
Clip your fingernails into the container provided. No blood, no needle — a nail clipper is the only thing you need.

Activate and post it back
Register your kit online so the laboratory can match your sample to you, then seal the prepaid envelope and drop it at any post box.

Get your results
Randox delivers them to you digitally once the laboratory has finished. A doctor consultation to talk them through is optional, from €45.

What to know before testing
Grow your nails a few days
The laboratory needs enough clipping to work with, so leave them a little longer than usual before collecting.
Remove polish and gels
Take off nail polish, gel and acrylic before clipping — coatings interfere with the protein analysis.

How is the sample collected?
You clip your fingernails into the container provided. There is no blood sample and no needle.
Is this the same as a DEXA scan?
No. A DEXA scan measures bone density in hospital. This test estimates fracture risk from nail protein structure — useful as an indicator, and a reason to seek a scan if your risk comes back raised.
Is a doctor's review included?
No. Your result comes to you directly from Randox. A follow-up consultation with an IMC-registered Global Health doctor is booked separately, from €45.
