What Your Consultation Includes
Complete Medical Assessment. Your doctor reviews your clinical history, current medication, metabolic risk factors, hormonal profile, eating patterns, physical activity, sleep quality, stress levels, and previous weight management attempts in detail — building a complete clinical picture of the factors contributing to your weight.
Identifying Underlying Causes. Weight gain is rarely a simple equation. Your doctor assesses hormonal contributors — including thyroid dysfunction, insulin resistance, PCOS, and cortisol dysregulation —, metabolic factors, medication-related weight gain, and lifestyle elements interacting with your biology.
Personalised Weight Management Plan. Based on the assessment, your doctor develops a structured, evidence-based plan tailored to your BMI, health status, lifestyle, and long-term goals — including nutritional strategy, behavioural approach, metabolic health optimisation, and clinical recommendations at the doctor's professional discretion.
Assessment for Medical Weight Management Therapies. For patients who meet the clinical criteria, your doctor assesses eligibility for evidence-based medical weight management therapies — including GLP-1 receptor agonist therapies — in line with Portuguese prescribing standards and clinical guidelines. Eligibility is determined exclusively by the doctor, after a complete clinical assessment.
Management of Weight-Related Conditions. When weight contributes to or complicates other conditions, your doctor addresses them as part of an integrated management plan — not as isolated issues.
Ongoing Review and Monitoring. Weight management is a long-term clinical process. Follow-up consultations are available to monitor progress, review metabolic markers, assess response to treatment, and adjust your plan as needed.

GLP-1 Therapies and Medical Weight Management
GLP-1 receptor agonist medications — including semaglutide-based therapies — represent a significant clinical advance in the medical management of obesity. They are not suitable for everyone, and are not a standalone solution.
Our doctors assess eligibility for GLP-1 and other medical weight management therapies as part of a complete clinical assessment. Eligibility is determined by clinical criteria — BMI, weight-related comorbidities, history of previous treatments, contraindications, and general health status — not by patient preference.
When treatment is clinically appropriate, your doctor advises on the most suitable approach, integrated into a structured weight management plan that includes dietary, behavioural, and medical components. When it isn't appropriate, your doctor explains clearly why and advises on the most suitable alternative.
This service does not provide weight management therapies without a complete clinical assessment. All clinical recommendations are made exclusively at the doctor's professional discretion, after a complete assessment.
Why Medical Oversight Makes the Difference
Most weight loss approaches fail not for lack of effort, but because they don't address the underlying clinical picture. Hormonal imbalance, insulin resistance, medication side effects, sleep disorders, and metabolic dysfunction all contribute to weight gain in ways that diet and exercise alone cannot resolve.
Medical weight management identifies and directly addresses these factors — providing clinical oversight, evidence-based treatment, and ongoing monitoring that make lasting change possible for patients who haven't succeeded with other approaches.
It also ensures safety. Weight loss — particularly rapid or pharmacologically assisted weight loss — carries clinical risks that require medical monitoring. Our doctors provide that oversight as an integral part of the service.
Why Choose Our Care
Doctors registered with the Portuguese Medical Association, with metabolic health experience. All consultations are carried out by doctors registered with the Portuguese Medical Association, with experience in weight management and metabolic medicine.
Same-day and advance appointments. Available on the same day for initial assessment, or by advance booking for scheduled reviews — because access to medical weight management support shouldn't require weeks of waiting.
Clinical rigour, not commercial guidance. We assess what is clinically appropriate for your individual profile — not what's most in demand. If a therapy isn't right for you, your doctor tells you clearly and explains why.
Integrated metabolic approach. Weight doesn't exist in isolation. Our doctors assess and manage the complete metabolic picture — including hormonal, cardiovascular, and lifestyle factors — rather than treating weight as a standalone variable.
Ongoing support available. Weight management is a long-term clinical process. Follow-up consultations are available to monitor progress, review response to treatment, and adjust your plan — ensuring continuity of medical oversight throughout the journey.
