Medical emergency? Call 155 or 112 immediately. Do not book an online consultation for emergencies.
Women's health encompasses far more than reproductive medicine — it includes hormonal health, metabolic conditions, mental wellbeing, and the specific ways common conditions present differently in women.
Our doctors, registered with the Czech Medical Chamber (ČLK), offer confidential women's health consultations in English by secure video call. Whether you need contraception advice, hormonal assessment, menopause support, or a women's health concern addressed without a language barrier — we are here, same day, from anywhere in Czech Republic.
Who This Service Is For
This consultation is appropriate for women who:
- Need contraception advice, review, or continuation in English
- Have hormonal health concerns — PCOS, thyroid conditions, perimenopause, or menopause
- Are experiencing symptoms they believe may have a hormonal or metabolic basis — fatigue, mood changes, weight gain, skin changes, hair loss
- Need assessment of menstrual irregularities, heavy periods, or painful periods
- Have sexual health concerns — reduced libido, vaginal dryness, or pain during intercourse
- Are pregnant or planning pregnancy and need preconception advice
- Need urinary tract infection assessment and management
- Have had results from a gynaecologist or specialist that they want explained in English
- Are expats or international residents who need women's healthcare in a language they understand
- Do not have a registered Czech GP or gynaecologist and need access to women's health care
Understanding Women's Healthcare in Czech Republic
The Czech healthcare system allows women to access gynaecology directly — without a GP referral. This is different from Ireland or the UK, where a GP referral is typically required before seeing a gynaecologist.
In practice, this means many women in Czech Republic have a gynaecologist they see for reproductive health but no GP for general hormonal and metabolic health concerns. Global Health fills this gap — providing GP-level women's health consultations that complement, rather than replace, specialist gynaecological care.
For expats, the challenge is different: finding an English-speaking gynaecologist or GP in Czech Republic who can address women's health concerns without a language barrier is genuinely difficult, particularly outside central Prague.
What Your Consultation Includes
- Full clinical assessment. Your doctor reviews your symptoms in detail, menstrual and reproductive history, current medications, hormonal indicators, relevant medical history, and lifestyle factors — building a complete clinical picture of your concern.
- Hormonal and metabolic assessment. Women's health symptoms frequently have hormonal or metabolic roots that go unaddressed in standard acute consultations. Your doctor assesses hormonal contributors — thyroid function, insulin resistance, PCOS, and perimenopause — where clinically relevant.
- Clinical management plan. Based on the assessment, your doctor advises on the most appropriate next steps — which may include lifestyle and nutritional recommendations, clinical recommendations at the doctor's professional discretion, referral for blood tests or specialist assessment, or ongoing management at GP level.
- eRecept — where clinically appropriate. When clinically indicated, your doctor issues eRecept electronically. You receive the code and present it at any pharmacy of your choice in Czech Republic.
- Referral and investigation coordination. When gynaecological referral, blood tests, or other investigations are clinically indicated, your doctor issues the relevant documentation on the same day.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I access contraception through this service? Yes. Contraception assessment and review is a central part of this service. Your doctor conducts a full clinical assessment and advises on the most appropriate options based on your medical history and individual needs. Clinical recommendations are made at the doctor's professional discretion following assessment.
Can I access HRT through this service? HRT can be assessed and initiated at GP level where clinically appropriate. Your doctor conducts a full assessment of your symptoms, medical history, and suitability before advising on any hormonal management. All recommendations are made at the doctor's professional discretion.
Do I need a gynaecologist referral to use this service? No. This service is available directly — no referral needed. If your assessment indicates that specialist gynaecological input is needed, your doctor coordinates the referral.
Can you explain results I received from a Czech gynaecologist? Yes. If you have received results, letters, or a treatment plan from a Czech gynaecologist and want them explained in English, bring them to your consultation. Your doctor reviews them in full and explains the clinical findings and recommendations clearly.
Is this service suitable for pregnancy-related concerns? For general preconception advice and early pregnancy questions, yes. For ongoing antenatal care, obstetric concerns, or anything requiring in-person obstetric assessment, your doctor advises on appropriate referral.
Does this service include termination of pregnancy? No. Termination of pregnancy in Czech Republic requires an in-person visit to a licensed facility under zákon č. 66/1986 Sb. This cannot be arranged through a telemedicine service.
Can I use this service if I do not have a Czech GP or gynaecologist? Yes. This service is specifically designed for women — including expats and international residents — who do not have a registered Czech GP or gynaecologist but need access to women's healthcare.
Women's health consultations are conducted by doctors registered with the Czech Medical Chamber (ČLK), in accordance with Czech telemedicine regulations under Act No. 372/2011 Coll. and Decree No. 30/2025 Coll. Clinical recommendations, including contraception and HRT assessment, are made solely at the doctor's professional discretion following full assessment and cannot be confirmed or guaranteed in advance. This service does not include termination of pregnancy, which requires in-person attendance at a licensed facility under Czech law (zákon č. 66/1986 Sb.). This service is not suitable for medical emergencies — call 155 or 112 immediately.
