Respiratory Consultant (Pulmonologist) — Join Global Health Ireland

Clinical Team · Ireland - 100% remote

Online respiratory care. From anywhere. Anytime.

About Us

Global Health is a telemedicine platform already operating in Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Romania, Czechia, and Brazil. Our promise is simple: Medicine Anytime, Anywhere. We're building a clinic that removes barriers between doctors and the patients who need them — wherever they are.

Why Online Respiratory Care Is Needed in Ireland Right Now

As of May 2026, almost 670,000 patients across all specialties are on Ireland's outpatient waiting list. Respiratory medicine has not been spared: reports through 2026 point to recurring treatment delays in respiratory care, including within paediatric services at Children's Health Ireland, driven by staff shortages and limited capacity. While Ireland's overall consultant workforce grew by around 9% a year between 2021 and 2025, pressures in specific specialties like respiratory medicine persist.

Chronic respiratory conditions — COPD, asthma, and sleep apnoea in particular — require ongoing monitoring and treatment adjustment rather than one-off visits, which adapts well to a remote care model. Ireland's market already has a sophisticated ecosystem of remote diagnostic and monitoring technology built specifically around sleep apnoea (home testing, CPAP management) and AI-supported asthma/COPD care — a clear signal that patients and providers alike see real value in managing these conditions remotely.

Online respiratory care is one real way to help ease this pressure — and you can be part of it.

The Position: Respiratory Consultant for Online Consultations

We're looking for licensed respiratory consultants based in Ireland to join our online clinic. Through our platform, you'll provide remote respiratory consultations to patients across the country, with full flexibility to shape your work schedule.

  • 100% remote — consult from anywhere, via video, with access to patient lung function tests and sleep study results
  • Flexible schedule — choose the hours and days that suit you
  • Main or supplementary role — ideal alongside an existing practice or hospital position
  • Clear referral protocols — defined pathways for cases requiring urgent in-person care (e.g. significant respiratory distress)
  • E-prescribing fully integrated — including chronic medication renewal (inhalers, CPAP/BPAP therapy), no extra paperwork

What You'll Be Part Of

  • A genuinely international team of doctors — collaborate and connect with colleagues across Europe and Brazil
  • A growing platform — you're joining Global Health at a growth stage in Ireland, not a position within an already-established system
  • Real impact — help patients with COPD, asthma, and sleep apnoea get the regular follow-up they need, without long waits
  • Ongoing support — technical, administrative, and clinical support so you can focus on medicine, not paperwork

Who We're Looking For

  • Valid medical registration in Ireland (Irish Medical Council)
  • Specialisation in Respiratory Medicine
  • Experience with telemedicine tools is a plus (training and onboarding support provided)
  • Fluent English; Portuguese, Spanish, Romanian, or Czech are a bonus given our presence in those markets

Why Now

With almost 670,000 patients on outpatient waiting lists nationally and persistent pressure on respiratory services specifically, the case for accessible online respiratory care in Ireland is clear. Doctors who join at this stage help shape how online respiratory medicine actually works within Global Health in Ireland — this isn't just about filling a schedule, it's about building something new.

If you're looking for a way to practise respiratory medicine with more freedom, connection, and purpose — we'd love to meet you.
