Online rheumatology. From anywhere. Anytime.
About Us
Global Health is a telemedicine platform already operating in Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Romania, Czechia, and Brazil. Our promise is simple: Medicine Anytime, Anywhere. We're building a clinic that removes barriers between doctors and the patients who need them — wherever they are.
Why Online Rheumatology Is Needed in Ireland Right Now
Rheumatology remains one of the most pressured specialties on Ireland's public waiting lists. As of August 2026, over 1,400 patients are awaiting rheumatology treatment in Cork hospitals alone, with nearly 90% of them not yet even given an appointment date. The government's 2026 Waiting Time Action Plan aims to bring access in line with Sláintecare's 10-week targets, but performance has been hampered by seasonal surges in demand — and the HSE has itself begun procuring outpatient teleconsultation services in rheumatology specifically to help address these waiting lists.
Rheumatic conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthritis, and osteoarthritis typically require ongoing follow-up — medication adjustment, monitoring response to treatment — which adapts well to remote consultation, even where initial diagnosis or more complex assessment may still require an in-person visit.
Online rheumatology is one real way to help close this gap — and you can be part of it.
The Position: Rheumatologist for Online Consultations
We're looking for licensed rheumatologists based in Ireland to join our online clinic. Through our platform, you'll provide remote rheumatology consultations to patients across the country, with full flexibility to shape your work schedule.
- 100% remote — consult from anywhere, via video, with access to patient labs and imaging
- Flexible schedule — choose the hours and days that suit you
- Main or supplementary role — ideal alongside an existing practice or hospital position
- E-prescribing fully integrated — including chronic medication renewal (e.g. biologics, DMARDs), no extra paperwork
What You'll Be Part Of
- A genuinely international team of doctors — collaborate and connect with colleagues across Europe and Brazil
- A growing platform — you're joining Global Health at a growth stage in Ireland, not a position within an already-established system
- Real impact — help patients with arthritis and other chronic rheumatic conditions get regular follow-up, especially where waiting lists are longest
- Ongoing support — technical, administrative, and clinical support so you can focus on medicine, not paperwork
Who We're Looking For
- Valid medical registration in Ireland (Irish Medical Council)
- Specialisation in Rheumatology
- Experience with telemedicine tools is a plus (training and onboarding support provided)
- Fluent English; Portuguese, Spanish, Romanian, or Czech are a bonus given our presence in those markets
Why Now
With over 1,400 patients awaiting rheumatology treatment in Cork hospitals alone, and the HSE itself now procuring teleconsultation services to help close the gap, the demand for accessible online rheumatology in Ireland is real and growing. Doctors who join at this stage help shape how online rheumatology actually works within Global Health in Ireland — this isn't just about filling a schedule, it's about building something new.
If you're looking for a way to practise rheumatology with more freedom, connection, and purpose — we'd love to meet you.
