At-home health test
Female Hormone Test
Hormone levels shift across the menstrual cycle and across life stages, and they influence mood, energy, weight and fertility. This kit measures eight hormones from a single sample you collect at home. Timing matters — if you have a regular cycle, collect your sample on day 3 unless advised otherwise. Your results are delivered to you directly by Randox. If you would like them explained, you can book an optional follow-up consultation with an IMC-registered Global Health doctor from €45.

Before you test
What to know before testing
Time it to your cycle
Collect your sample two to five days after your period starts, ideally on day three.
Hormonal contraception affects this
The pill changes these results. If you have recently stopped it, wait until your cycle has settled back into its normal rhythm before testing.
Drink water beforehand
On the morning of collection, drink plenty of water. Being well hydrated improves circulation and makes it easier to collect a clean sample.
Pause biotin supplements
Biotin (vitamin B7), on its own or inside a multivitamin, interferes with several laboratory results. Stop 48 hours before testing — unless it was prescribed, in which case speak to your doctor first.
Applying HRT gel, spray or cream
Keep taking it as usual, but wear gloves to apply it and never apply it to the arm you collect from — residue on the skin contaminates the sample.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
When in my cycle should I take the sample?
If your cycle is regular, day 3 (counting the first day of your period as day 1) is the usual point for hormone testing. If your cycle is irregular or absent, collect the sample at a time that suits you and note the date.
Can I test while on the contraceptive pill?
Hormonal contraception changes several of these results, so they may be difficult to interpret. If you are on the pill, discuss timing with a doctor before ordering.
Is this a finger-prick test?
No. The kit uses a QuickDraw collection device placed on your upper arm, so there is no finger-pricking. Step-by-step instructions are included.
How long do results take?
Randox reports results 2–3 working days after your sample arrives at the laboratory. Activate your kit and post it back the same day you collect the sample.
Is a doctor's review included?
No. The price covers the kit and its laboratory analysis, and your results come to you directly from Randox. A follow-up consultation with an IMC-registered Global Health doctor is booked separately, from €45.
