Vitamin D Test

Ireland sits far enough north that skin cannot make meaningful vitamin D from sunlight for much of the year, which makes low levels common — particularly over winter. This kit measures your level from a sample you collect at home. Your results are delivered to you directly by Randox. If you would like them explained, you can book an optional follow-up consultation with an IMC-registered Global Health doctor from €45.

Before you test

What to know before testing

  • Drink water beforehand

On the morning of collection, drink plenty of water. Being well hydrated improves circulation and makes it easier to collect a clean sample.

  • Keep taking your supplement

If you want to know whether your current dose is working, carry on as normal and note the dose when you read your result.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Should I stop my supplement before testing?

No — if you want to know whether your current dose is enough, keep taking it as usual and note the dose when you review the result.

Is this a finger-prick test?

No. The kit uses a QuickDraw collection device placed on your upper arm, so there is no finger-pricking. Step-by-step instructions are included.

How long do results take?

Randox reports results 2–3 working days after your sample arrives at the laboratory. Activate your kit and post it back the same day you collect the sample.

Is a doctor's review included?

No. The price covers the kit and its laboratory analysis, and your results come to you directly from Randox. A follow-up consultation with an IMC-registered Global Health doctor is booked separately, from €45.
