If you are unsure whether your situation counts as an emergency, the safer choice is to contact your family doctor or emergency services directly, rather than waiting for an online appointment to become available.

Can you issue a concediu medical (medical leave certificate) online?

A doctor who assesses you in an online consultation can issue a medical certificate recording that assessment, where clinically appropriate. Whether it counts as an official concediu medical for statutory sick-leave purposes, and whether the related benefit gets paid, depends on CNAS and on that doctor's own contractual arrangement with the health insurance house, as well as on your employer's own rules — outcomes we cannot guarantee. Whether medical leave obtained through an online consultation is fully recognised is, in fact, an actively debated question in Romanian legal commentary. If you need a certificate CNAS will recognise for benefit purposes, check with your employer and your registered family doctor beforehand.

Will my employer accept a certificate issued online?

The certificate is issued by the doctor who assessed you and records that consultation and its findings. Employers set their own requirements for what they accept as proof of absence, and some ask specifically for documents issued through CNAS procedures. We recommend checking your employer's internal policy in advance, especially if you need the absence recognised and paid as medical-leave benefit. We can provide the certificate issued by the doctor, but we cannot guarantee that a particular employer or institution will accept it — that decision rests with them, under their own rules.

Can you issue a prescription online?

Yes. If, after assessing you, the doctor considers medication appropriate, they can issue a prescription you can collect from any pharmacy by showing ID. Not every condition can or should be treated remotely — that judgment always sits with the doctor, based on your symptoms and history. Certain categories of medication, such as those under special control, cannot be prescribed through an online consultation and require an in-person assessment. If you have an existing prescription you would like to discuss, you can raise it with the doctor during your consultation.

Is a prescription issued online covered by CNAS?

It depends on the type of prescription and the issuing doctor's status with CNAS. An electronic prescription from the doctor who consulted you can be collected at a pharmacy, but reimbursement through the CNAS system follows the insurance house's own rules and generally requires the issuing doctor to hold a CNAS contract covering that type of prescription. We cannot guarantee that a prescription issued through our platform will be reimbursed. If this matters to you, ask the pharmacist when you collect the prescription, or check directly with CNAS before booking your consultation.

Your data is not sold, and it is not shared with employers, insurers or other institutions without your explicit consent or a clear legal obligation that requires us to disclose it in a specific case that actually arises.

You can request a copy of your medical data stored on the platform, as well as deletion of your account and associated information, subject to the retention periods the law requires for medical records.
