What to Expect From Your Consultation
Your consultation takes place by encrypted video call with a psychiatrist who has experience in adult ADHD. Your psychiatrist will:
- Take a detailed history of your symptoms now and in childhood, because ADHD symptoms start before age 12
- Look at how attention, impulsivity and restlessness affect your work, studies, relationships and daily life
- Check for conditions that can look like ADHD or sit alongside it, such as anxiety, depression, sleep problems or thyroid issues
- Review any screening questionnaires, school reports, previous assessments or prescriptions you share
- Agree a treatment plan with you, which can include medication, psychological strategies and practical support at work or college
- Arrange follow-up reviews to check how your treatment is working
Who This Consultation Is For
Adults who think they may have ADHD
- You scored high on a screening questionnaire such as the ASRS and want a specialist assessment
- You have noticed lifelong problems with focus, time management or finishing tasks
- A family member, often a child, was recently diagnosed and you recognise the signs in yourself
Adults with an existing diagnosis
- You want ongoing specialist management of your ADHD
- Your medication needs reviewing or adjusting, or you have side effects
- You were diagnosed as a child or abroad and need care now you live in Ireland
Adults on a public waiting list
- You are waiting for a public assessment and want specialist care sooner
Ongoing ADHD Management
ADHD is a long-term condition, and good care does not stop at a diagnosis. Your psychiatrist can manage your ADHD over time: starting and adjusting treatment where clinically appropriate, monitoring side effects, blood pressure, heart rate and weight, and reviewing how things are going at home, at work or in college. With your consent, we share a care plan with your GP so your care stays joined up.
If you have not been diagnosed yet, your psychiatrist will assess your symptoms and history. A formal diagnosis rests on a structured interview, a developmental history and information from more than one setting, never on a questionnaire alone, so it can take more than one appointment. Medication is started only after a confirmed diagnosis and baseline health checks.
Why Choose Our Care
Registered psychiatrists: every consultation is led by a psychiatrist registered with the Irish Medical Council.
No referral needed: book directly. Sharing GP notes or previous reports helps, but is not required.
Continuity of care: follow-up reviews with the same psychiatrist support consistent, long-term management.
From home, on your schedule: no travel, no waiting room, and appointment times that suit busy days.
Private and secure: our platform is GDPR compliant and fully encrypted.
How It Works
- Book your consultation. Choose a time that suits you.
- Complete a short questionnaire. Tell us about your symptoms and upload any reports or prescriptions.
- Join your video call. Your psychiatrist reviews your history and answers your questions.
- Start your care plan. Treatment, a GP letter or referral advice, with follow-up reviews as needed.
Treatment decisions, including prescribing, are made at the psychiatrist's clinical discretion. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call 112 or 999, or contact Samaritans free on 116 123.
