About Dra Stacye
Dr Stacye Toups is a general medicine doctor who sees patients online in English and Spanish. English is her native language and her Spanish is at C2 level, so she is a good fit for international residents, students and travellers in Spain who would rather describe their symptoms in English.
She earned her medical degree at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) in 2023, after clinical placements at Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz in Madrid with rotations through the medical departments. Before medicine she studied Human Biology at Eastern Kentucky University in the United States and worked as a medical assistant at a dermatology practice.
As a doctor she has been responsible for the health of 500 students on Oxbridge Academic Programs, covering first aid, treatment and referral when needed, and has carried out medical check-ups and telemedicine consultations for a digital health service. She now works as a self-employed general medicine doctor, focused on telemedicine.
What she can help with online
- Flu, colds, sore throat, cough and other respiratory infections
- Urinary infections and other common acute health problems
- Assessing new symptoms and advising whether you need to be seen in person
- Treatment advice and a prescription when clinically appropriate
- Referral to a specialist or for tests when needed
- Consultations for students, travellers and international residents in Spain
- Consultations in English or Spanish
What needs other care
An online consultation does not replace a physical examination when one is needed. If you need one, Dr Toups will tell you and explain where to go. For chest pain, difficulty breathing, fainting or any other emergency, call 112.

FAQs
Is Dr Toups an English-speaking doctor in Spain?
Yes. English is her native language and her Spanish is at C2 level. She can run the whole consultation in English, which helps international residents, students and travellers in Madrid and across Spain.
How does an online doctor consultation with her work?
It is a telemedicine video consultation. She asks about your symptoms and medical history, assesses what is going on and explains the treatment and next steps. If you need a physical examination or tests, she will say so and tell you where to go.
Flu, sore throat or a cough: when is an online doctor enough?
For flu, colds, a sore throat or a cough it is often enough to assess the symptoms, advise on home treatment and decide whether a test or examination is needed. A high fever that does not come down with medication, difficulty breathing, a cough lasting more than three weeks or coughing up blood need in-person care.
Can she help with a urinary tract infection?
Yes. She assesses your symptoms and advises on treatment. Fever, pain in the lower back, pregnancy or infections that keep coming back need more assessment, and in that case she will tell you where to go.
I am a student or travelling in Spain. Can she see me?
Yes. She has been responsible for the health of 500 students on an international academic programme, covering first aid, treatment and referral when needed. She sees patients with new symptoms during their stay in Spain, in English or Spanish.
When should I not use an online consultation?
Online consultations are not for emergencies. For chest pain, difficulty breathing, fainting, a hard blow to the head or any other emergency, call 112.
