Why online medical genetics is needed in Portugal, now
The National Health Service (SNS) has insufficient capacity to meet the demand for medical genetics consultations and genetic counselling, which contributes to waiting lists and referral delays — despite a standard that sets a maximum time of 60 days for an appointment. Genetic tests are covered by the SNS, but waiting times for an appointment and for the interpretation of results tend to be significantly longer than in the private sector.
Genetic counselling is particularly well suited to the remote model: most of the consultation consists of explaining results, discussing family risk and following up on clinical decisions — in most cases, it does not require a physical examination. There are already private hospitals and specialist centres in Portugal offering teleconsultation in areas such as oncogenetics, cardiogenetics and neurogenetics, a sign of real demand for this model.

The position: Medical Geneticist for online consultations
We are looking for licensed medical geneticists practising in Portugal to join our online clinic. Through our platform, you will carry out remote medical genetics consultations and genetic counselling with patients across the country, with full flexibility to manage your working model.
- 100% remote — consultations from anywhere, by video, with access to the patient's genetic test results and family history
- Flexible hours — choose the hours and days that suit you best
- Main or complementary activity — ideal as a complement to an existing practice or hospital work
- Fully integrated clinical documentation — including genetic counselling reports, with no additional paperwork

Who we are looking for
- A valid professional licence in Portugal (registration with the Ordem dos Médicos)
- Specialisation in Medical Genetics
- Experience with online consultation tools is an advantage (training and onboarding support provided)
- Fluent Portuguese; English is an advantage given our international team, and Spanish, Romanian or Czech are a bonus given our presence in those markets
