About Nutricionista Marta
Marta Sofia Silva is a nutritionist with a degree in Nutrition Sciences from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon. She has been a member of the Ordem dos Nutricionistas (the Portuguese Order of Nutritionists) since 2023, professional licence no. 5607N. She works in hospital clinical nutrition and offers online nutrition consultations in English and Portuguese.
Since 2024 she has been a nutritionist at Hospital Beatriz Ângelo in Loures, where she runs outpatient nutrition clinics for people with obesity, diabetes, kidney disease, cancer, digestive symptoms and diseases, and infections, and works on the wards. Before that she worked at Hospital Lusíadas Lisboa, where she did her professional placement for the Order and cared for medical, surgical, paediatric and obstetric patients. Her university placement was at Hospital de Santa Maria, in paediatrics and nephrology.
Her further training includes ESPEN (European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism) courses in gastrointestinal, liver and pancreatic disease, cancer and nutrition in older adults, and courses on functional dyspepsia, SIBO and irritable bowel syndrome, weight loss, endometriosis and type 1 diabetes. She presented a poster on hospital food waste at the 2023 APNEP congress.
