Dr. Raafat Ibrahim is a highly accomplished Consultant Paediatrician with over 30 years of clinical experience across Ireland, the UK, and the Middle East. He brings a deep expertise in general paediatrics, paediatric endocrinology, and diabetes care, with a focus on delivering patient-centered, evidence-based treatment to children and adolescents.

He holds multiple postgraduate qualifications, including Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH), Postgraduate Diplomas in Paediatric Diabetes (York) and Endocrinology (South Wales), and is currently completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Allergy and Clinical Immunology in Cork.

Dr. Ibrahim served as a permanent Consultant Paediatrician and Clinical Lead in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Portiuncula Hospital, Galway, where he developed and led multidisciplinary services for paediatric diabetes and endocrine disorders. He has also held consultant roles at University Hospital Limerick, Bon Secours Hospital Tralee, and private practices in Limerick and Northern Ireland.

His academic contributions include appointments as Honorary Senior Lecturer at University Hospital Galway and Adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Limerick. He is also a dedicated educator and mentor, serving as a tutor for the RCPI-affiliated paediatric diploma program and clinical examiner for final-year medical students.

Dr. Ibrahim has contributed to numerous publications and national research presentations, particularly in paediatric diabetes, Down syndrome, and neonatal care. He continues to engage in ongoing research and peer review, and he has received multiple awards for his contributions to paediatrics and intellectual disability care.
