Dr. Andra Cristea, MD

Registrar in Medical Oncology

Dr. Andra Cristea is a dedicated and experienced medical oncology registrar with clinical experience across both Romania and Ireland. She holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Grigore T. Popa in Iași, Romania, and is currently practising in Dublin.

Dr. Cristea has a strong background in both inpatient and outpatient oncology care, having worked at prominent hospitals such as the Elias Emergency University Hospital in Bucharest and at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin. Her responsibilities include managing oncology wards, day wards, outpatient clinics, and emergency oncology consults.

She is particularly interested in the treatment and research of breast and ovarian cancers, and has participated in ESMO (European Society for Medical Oncology) advanced training programs, including the ESMO Advanced Course in Breast Cancer (Barcelona, 2023) and the Preceptorship in Ovarian Cancer (Lisbon, 2023).

Dr. Cristea is also active in medical research, having published on prognostic factors in colon cancer and the mental health effects of psychoactive substances. She is a member of the Irish Medical Council, Romanian National Society of Oncology, and ESMO.

Multilingual and internationally trained, Dr. Cristea brings a holistic and patient-centred approach to cancer care at Global Health, always guided by empathy, ethical values, and evidence-based medicine.
