About this service

Who This Service Is For

This consultation is designed for patients who are currently managing a stable, established condition and wish to ensure their care remains clinically appropriate, effective, and aligned with current medical guidelines.

It is not a replacement for your regular GP — it is a clinically supervised review that ensures your treatment continues to work safely and appropriately for your current health status.

This service is appropriate when your condition is stable. If your symptoms have changed significantly, worsened, or you have new concerns, book a Medical Consultation instead so your doctor can conduct a full assessment.

What Your Consultation Includes

Review of Your Current TreatmentYour doctor will assess the condition being managed, current dosage and duration, your response to treatment, any side effects or concerns, and relevant updates to your medical history since your last review.

Treatment Safety AssessmentA clinical review of potential interactions, contraindications, and any changes in your health status that may affect the safety or suitability of your ongoing care.

Clinical RecommendationBased on the assessment, your doctor will advise on whether your current treatment remains appropriate, requires adjustment, or needs further evaluation. Any clinical documentation or onward referral will be issued at the doctor's professional discretion and in accordance with Irish medical standards.

Escalation Where NeededIf your condition requires more detailed assessment, specialist input, or in-person evaluation, your doctor will advise you clearly and coordinate next steps.

Conditions Suitable for Review

This service is appropriate for stable, established conditions including:

  • Cardiovascular conditions and blood pressure management
  • Diabetes and blood sugar control
  • Respiratory conditions including asthma and COPD
  • Thyroid conditions
  • Cholesterol management
  • Contraception — subject to medical suitability and clinical review
  • Mental health support — anxiety, low mood, and stress management, case-dependent
  • Digestive and reflux conditions
  • Long-term dermatological conditions
  • Other stable chronic conditions currently under GP management

This consultation is appropriate when your condition is stable and does not require immediate in-depth reassessment. New, worsening, or undiagnosed symptoms should be assessed through a full Medical Consultation.

Important Information Before You Book

  • Continuation of any treatment is a clinical decision made solely by the doctor following assessment — it cannot be confirmed or guaranteed in advance
  • Certain complex, high-risk, or controlled conditions may require additional assessment or may not be suitable for review via video consultation
  • If your symptoms have changed, worsened, or you have new concerns since your last review, a full Medical Consultation is more appropriate
  • Further investigations or in-person assessment may be recommended where clinically indicated
  • Our doctors do not routinely manage controlled substances through video consultations

Clear next stepsIf your condition needs more than a review — further tests, specialist input, or an adjusted approach — your doctor will tell you clearly and help you get there.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my treatment automatically continued after the consultation?

No. Continuation of any treatment is a clinical decision made by the doctor based on your assessment. Your doctor will review your current status, any changes since your last review, and whether your treatment remains appropriate and safe.

What if my condition has changed since my last review?

If your symptoms have worsened, changed significantly, or you have new concerns, a full Medical Consultation is more appropriate than a treatment review. Your doctor will advise you during the consultation if a more detailed assessment is needed.

Can any condition be reviewed through this service?

Most stable, established conditions are suitable. However, certain complex or high-risk conditions may require additional assessment or in-person evaluation. If your condition is not suitable for online review, your doctor will tell you clearly and advise on next steps.

Can I use this service for mental health medication?

Mental health support including anxiety and low mood can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Your doctor will assess clinical suitability during the consultation. More complex mental health presentations may require specialist referral.

How quickly will I receive any documentation following my consultation?

Any clinical documentation will be issued digitally following your consultation on the same day, where clinically appropriate and at the doctor's discretion.

Medical disclaimer. All services are provided at GP level in accordance with Irish healthcare regulations. Prescriptions, referrals, and medical certificates may be issued only when clinically appropriate and at the doctor's discretion. Our doctors do not routinely prescribe controlled substances through online consultations. Electronic sick leave certificates are not accepted by the Department of Social Protection in Ireland. Backdated sick notes are not routinely issued due to the lack of a direct clinical assessment at the time of illness.
