Dr. Malar Vili Rajan is a compassionate and patient-centred medical doctor with over four years of clinical experience in psychiatry and general medicine, providing care to adults, children and adolescents, and older adults. She has extensive experience in the assessment and management of a wide range of mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma-related conditions, eating disorders, psychosis, and personality disorders.


She is skilled in conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments, developing evidence-based treatment plans, and integrating both pharmacological and psychosocial approaches to care. Dr. Rajan has worked in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings, with strong experience in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and liaison psychiatry, including mental health assessments for Emergency Department referrals.


In addition to psychiatry, Dr. Rajan has a solid background in general medicine and cardiology, having managed patients with complex medical conditions, including post-cardiac events and COVID-related complications. Her broad medical training allows her to take a holistic approach to patients where mental and physical health intersect.


Dr. Rajan is fully registered with the Medical Council of Ireland and is enrolled on her long-term goal to pursue specialist training in psychiatry. She actively maintains her professional development through continuous medical education, mental health courses, and engagement with current psychiatric research and best-practice guidelines.


She is known for her warm, empathetic communication style and her ability to build strong therapeutic relationships with patients and families, while working closely with multidisciplinary teams including psychologists, nurses, social workers, and allied health professionals to deliver coordinated, patient-focused care.
