Dr. Ana Leal Neto

Cardiologist

Dr. Ana Leal Neto is a specialist in cardiology dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases, with clinical experience in both hospital settings—including acute and emergency cardiac care—and outpatient clinics. She currently works as a cardiologist in the Cardiology Departments of the Tâmega e Sousa Local Health Unit and the Lusíadas Hospital in Paços de Ferreira, Portugal.

Her main areas of interest are heart failure, acute cardiovascular care, cardiac rehabilitation, and cardiovascular prevention. She has completed advanced training at European centers, including specialized fellowships in advanced heart failure and cardiac intensive care (in Lyon, France), as well as in cardiac rehabilitation and cardiovascular prevention (in Santiago de Compostela, Spain).

She holds European certifications in Transthoracic Echocardiography and Acute Cardiovascular Care, as well as the European Cardiology Exam from the European Society of Cardiology. She is also a Young Ambassador for the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology (2023–2026), contributing to collaboration and knowledge sharing among young cardiologists at the international level.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Ana Leal Neto actively participates in international cardiovascular research, serving as a co-investigator in clinical trials, particularly in the field of heart failure.

She earned her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto and aims to provide personalized cardiac care based on the best scientific evidence and centered on the needs of each patient.
